What does the Future Hold?

Take a break and look back into the history of mankind, so much has changed ever since God created man. Man’s curiosity and desire for superior things coupled with the great abilities and potentials man has been endowed with has paved the way for what we have today. Times are changing quickly.
The world as we know it today was not so some years after. So many aspects of our daily life have gone through a lot of changes and I’m really talking about the technological aspect of our lives.
So much has changed in communication. From writing letters to using paid phone at the Phone boot, then came home and office telephones and then to Mobile phones (GSM). With the advent of computers internet in the 20th century, things were on no occasion going to be the same.
Then came the smart phones and Graphic User Interface computers that joined in the ride which made things a lot better, and surfing the internet became more interesting and user-friendly.
Also, machines were being made with Artificial Intelligence- ability to carry out tasks formerly possible to only humans. All these things are happening so fast that it gets harder and harder to follow things up.
These developments are truly making life stress-free for us. With your smart phone, you can now make calls, send texts, surf the web, chat with friends on social networks, take pictures, upload and download files from the internet with so little effort on your part.
But, with all of these going on, I think there are some preordained problems that will come with some of these good development which we should not ignore, but I think we should start looking for ways to unravel all these problems before things really get out of hands. These are some of the complications we might have to face worldwide.
Potential Loss of jobs and massive unemployment
With the aid of Artificial Intelligence (AI), it now takes lesser people to do the same task.
The more machines are able to do people’s jobs, the less active humans will become.
We will only do little tasks such as instructing the machines (robots) and leaving them to do the rest of the work. This also means that the more these machines are being made, the more people lose their jobs. Employers will soon be turning to these machines instead of employing people to work for them knowing that they don’t have to pay salaries or care about someone getting exhausted. Which means people who were once employed, will lose their jobs at some point when their bosses acquire these machines.

Massive industrial activities with negative impact on the planet
We all know that the biggest enemies of our planet are humans. The things we do in the process of production of some goods and services for human comfort also contribute to the destruction of our planet. Activities such as mining, waste processing, etc. contribute to the imbalance of the planet’s climate condition when not done properly.

Laziness
Soon, there will be so much robots and machines that people will do almost nothing. They won’t even have to maintain the robots because they might be self-maintained. You will have washing machines to do your laundry for you. There are now some robots that clean houses so you don’t have to employ cleaner to mop the floor of your rooms, these robots can clean almost like you have a cleaner to do the mopping for you. There might soon be some robots that can cook almost without human interference.Frankly, not doing house chores can really make one feel very lazy.

What now…?

With all these foreseen problems, there has to be a way out. This is the time when the world needs the creative minds of youth who can become entrepreneurs to step up and create jobs for themselves and for other so that job loss will be drastically reduced. This is the time for youths with dreams to aim at their dreams and hit.
