18-propeller Electric Helicopter Volocopter

E-volo, a German tech company has invented a multi-rotor electric helicopter. The new "Volocopter" is the first of its kind in the aviation industry. The electric remote controlled helicopter successfully took its first flight in the dm-arena in Karlsruhe, Germany, hovering nearly 22meters above the ground. the 18-propeller helicopter is a light weight carbon framed technology powered by a 100 kilogram battery.

The Volocopter is an environmentally friendly and emission free private helicopter. Quietly, it hovers in the air without any disturbing noise or vibration.



The helicopter weighs 300kilograms in total and can only fly for a limited period of 20mins, but it seems to an easier, cleaner and fast way of moving around, especially when roads are congested with traffic.



2-person VC200 Volocopter

According to the company Alexander Zosel, managing director of e-volo "there have numerous requests for the Volocopter world wide", but the company says it will officially put the chopper on sale by 2015. The  easy-to-fly helicopter might soon become a replacement for cars.
